Image depicting earthquake damage/aftermath

Earthquake damage to a one-story building of sandstone blocks that was being built by Josiah Sturges, the proprietor of the nearby Alhambra Hotel. The building was later used a bank. Not only is this the northernmost damage photograph for the earthquake, but it is the only damage photograph that has been obtained from the east side of the fault.
