Emergency Survival Expo
Livermore Area Recreation and Park District
The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is proud to announce its first annual “Emergency Survival Expo,” being held at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Ave., Livermore, CA. Event date is Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The American Red Cross, Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department, Livermore Police Department, ValleyCare Health System, and Your Safety Place have all agreed to not only endorse this event, but also provide their expertise in disaster preparedness .Activities such as preparedness for the first 72-hours, emergency medical information, microchip implanting for pets, child fingerprinting, emergency response and recovery information, home utility safety, information about seismic retrofits for residences and businesses, fire truck and ambulance tours, and a blood drive are planned.
Participants will learn current and viable methods of preparing for a disaster through demonstrations and hands-on experience. The event will provide FREE, Red Cross approved, 72-hour personal survival kits to the first 300 guests (limit one per family), with additional kits available for purchase at $10 per kit. Proceeds from the survival kits will make it possible for the Expo to donate 200 survival kits to local senior citizens and low-income families.
